Slowing down
After three days of full attention to nature, today I’m forced to slow down because of my left leg.
A bit of background: mid February 2023 I was hit by a car with multiple injuries as a result. The most severe was a fracture in the tibia plateau of my left knee. It took quite some time to heal with ups and downs and around summer I thought I was close to fully recovered, only to be followed by a strong set back. It was around this time my plans for this photography retreat came to life with the idea that by autumn, winter, I would have recovered sufficiently. Indeed that is the case so I traveled to Schiermonnikoog. However, after three days my left leg is protesting to the activity and excitement of the last days. Health comes first, hence I slow down my walks on the island. Hopefully my leg will recover soon and I can be more outside again. Especially today it is difficult not too go out as it is winter wonderland here with fresh snow clinging to branches and trees, and an occasional sunshine to accompany it. I hope there will be more snow and sun to come for me to enjoy with my camera.
Take care and see you in a next post!
